huawei 3G dongle ec156 disappearing under 10.8

Hello,

I have an USB 3G dongle (huawei EC156) plunged into my iMac (2009) under 10.8.5 it can connect fine after a boot, but after 2 or 3 disconnections, the key disappear and only a reboot will make the key available again.

It use to work fine under 10.6.

It is a very frustrating problem as i am in Kenya, and connection cut a lot.

I have tried Pram Reset among other things like removing all the network preferences without any success.

I am really looking for an answer.

Have you checked for an update on the manufacture's web site?

Dear Eric,

Thank you for the reply, i have tried to update as much as possible.

I have also tried on a friend's macbook pro with OS X 10.10 without any installations of any drivers, and the problem does not occur at all.

It seems like a timer or something, after few hours or disconnection the modem seems absent.
